      Question iPod Trouble

      Hey everyone,

I'm running out of space on my iPod. A while back I put a couple of video lectures on it but they never worked. Now however I can't see them anywhere on iTunes to delete them, yet on the main iPod screen in iTunes it tells me there's .53Gb of movies on it.

How do I get rid of the files?

      Thanks.

You should be able to open up your iPod as an external hard drive through "my computer", maybe you can manually find the video files in there.

I think you can't access an iPod via my computer - at least my touch I can't.

You will need to use openSSH and access it via some FTP-like program. You'll need a jailbroken iPod for it (I guess you are talking about the iPod touch). Search on youtube, there is some easy ways to use the openSSH.

Yeah I could do this with an old 2nd generation iPod on Windows XP, not sure about the recent stuff.

      Mine is a 3G, and I used a 2G, same, can't access. Didn't you had an app that allowed this (I don't remember it's name now) ?

I'd tried looking directly via My Computer before but I forgot the files would be hidden. I've unhidden them now and found the video, but deleting it has no effect; whenever you refresh the folder the file reappears.

It probably happens because they were synched with you iTunes, so the program see there are missing files and just replace them. You can't find anything on your itunes ? What is your device and is it jailbroken ?

If you are using Windows and a jailbroken device, check this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nevAI6nN4k

      It's a Nano 4G and it ain't jailbroken.

Is there no way of listing all files on iTunes or something..? I don't get how it knows there's .5Gb of video yet doesn't list the actual file anywhere that I can see.

I don't know any methods with the nano.

Open iTunes and see if there are any videos, or movies, synched. If they are in your computer, move it to another place or delete them. The best thing you can do is search on your iTunes library, or complete format the device and sync things again, hehe.

There is a program/site I have found with a alternative to iTunes: http://en.kioskea.net/faq/191-managi...without-itunes

and this: http://www.iphone-ipod-to-mac-transf...ng-itunes.html - for the iPod classic, it'll probably work with nano.

Nope, it would just appear as any other hard drive.
