      fuking lggikyboard (fucking lagging keyboard)

      It takes me waaaay too long to properly type sentences at times because my keyboard (and touchpad mouse, though not my USB mouse) lag. The lag occasionally goes away completely, but for a majority of my time on the computer it has plagued me. I don't know how I should diagnose this, and I certainly don't know how to fix it.

      Help!

      Sounds like you have a key logger. Some key loggers intercept the keystrokes, record them, then send them back through the pipeline, this can cause significant lag. Run complete virus and spyware scan.

      could also be a "legitimate" program intercepting keyboard / mouse input

      ATI's hotkey thing is notorious for bogging down input

      Press ctrl+al+del if you're on PC, or Finder -> Applications -> Utilities -> Activity Monitor if you're on OSX. Click on the processes tab and take a screenshot. You've got something strange running in the background, without seeing a process list we can't really help.

      Wow. Looks like Firefox is screwing it up. Take another screenshot when you're not in Flash chat. I think it's one of your Firefox extensions, a browser shouldn't take more than 10-20% of your CPU. Even when running flash chat it shouldn't be that high.

      It might also be smcgui, that's Symantic. Symantic is one of those virus protection apps that is as bad as most of the viruses that it protects against. It's almost as bad as Norton. Disable that and see if things improve

      that got to be your problem. The most I've ever seen a program take up on my computer is less than half that...and that was when it was completely locked up for some unknown reason.

      Well, I removed a bunch of addons; it's been running at 150k and now it's at 89k.

      My computer also often flashes "Critical Battery!" even though I have it plugged in. It randomly goes to stand by.

      One more issue is that my clock is lagging, too. I'll have my computer on, and over the course of an hour or two, it'll end up 10-20 minutes slow! Freaking annoying, especially when I have places to be.

      You might have thought it worked great because it picked up a few viruses, but it misses a lot, along with being a shitty program in general. The best AVs are Avira and NOD32, in my opinion.

      So, my computer just had a siezure. This has only started these past couple days. The screen starts flickering, and it didn't stop for five minutes. I was getting Zalgo'd, man.

      Will try bluebitter now.
