HOW TO: Cheap Wireless For Your Xbox 360 <-link to article
In this dig i was sinking my spade into the net hoping to find a way to hack/convert a cheap household router or wireless adapter to utilize it for my friends Xbox 360 so that we could try the new Halo Reach Beta. He has internet in his bedroom, but not in his living room. He didn't want to move his computer and router. He also didn't want to purchase the MS Xbox 360 wireless adapter as it's very expensive and only capable of being used for the 360.
So through a little digging i've found a way to take a cheap router you may have or could purchase and change it's firmware to become a wireless bridge.
You may be thinking, "Well i could just purchase a wireless bridge for thirty dollars to do this."
Sure you could, but by utilizing this method, you can have multiple items utilizing the hack/converted router and supply internet to game systems, a second pc, DVR, amongst many other things all through the router.
* This tutorial assumes you already have a wireless router to send out wireless access to the Xbox 360.
Parts Needed:
- Xbox 360, any version
- Three Feet or more of Cat 5e Cable (Ethernet Cable)
- Wireless Router
- DD-WRT firmware
