Don't focus on the feelings of HI and SP, because focusing on them and recognizing them will most likely get you too excited or cause you to think about your bed or the real world and mess up your dream. Instead, wake yourself up in the middle of a REM cycle and you'll be tired enough to not care about any distractions. Then just go back to sleep as you normally would but try to keep your mind active. You need to focus less on all the strange feelings and just try to fall asleep. Once you're actually deep into HI and are seeing the hallucinations, you're in the middle of the transition to the dream state and probably won't accidentally wake up anyway.
