Why do I fail at WILD?

Hello, I am interested in Lucid Dreaming, and I choose WILD as the technique (because I am very forgetful, and I can't get myself to remember to do reality checks (for DILD)), but I fail every time.
I either fall asleep non-lucidly, or not fall asleep at all. The last two times I tried gave me these results:

First: Lying in my bed, relaxed, light patterns appear, but nothing else, but some faint visions of random things (which rather felt like when you are meditating and you suddenly realize you are thinking about something, than actual image), and then finally weak buzzing, weird feeling around my whole body - I felt so heavy it was uncomfortable, and then nothing - I thought to myself I might be already in the dream, so I sat up at my bed, and it was not a dream. I was able to move immediately so I don't think I even entered SP.
      -- This was with WBTB

Second: Lying in my bed, light patterns, nothing else, I start to think about visions, like flying out of window, going up the stairs in a high building, and it was actually quite vivid, much more than my normal imagination, but I always realized it's a visualization, and "fell" back to my body, so I couldn't keep them for more than few seconds. After a while of trying, relaxing, trying to break out of my body and enter a dream, I gave up, and again, I was able to move immediately.
-- This was in an afternoon nap.

I also have problems keeping my mouth (or when I am not tired enough, eyes) shut, which quite breaks my relaxation.

Two tries?? That's not enough. WILD takes time, practice, and dedication. Another problem is that you're looking for SP, when your main priority is to fall asleep.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.

That were not two tries, that were two results that were actually worth something. I have been trying for three months from now

So what should I do to fall asleep, when I get to this very relaxed (or at least I think so) part?

Your probably thinking about it too much. Just let your mind wander, but maintain awareness. Its an art, not a science. Although it is kindof a science too. I still havn't wilded, but im almost positive i would have last night if my dog wasn't barking. I was in the perfect tired/awake type of state and i know i could have. Damnit.

The main trick is not moving your body... it takes a lot of focus. I try to to look at the colours as soon as they appear- they often happen in a pattern that looks like circles closing into a point, or a tunnel. I stare straight into the tunnel and start spinning
