Thread: How close was I to a WILD?

I don't know, but I've been that the same kinda of spot that you have been.

It felt like someone was shaking my bed from my feet but it was my body ; weird because I don't think they were full fledged vibrations and I've never succeeded at a wild but I may have once..... Have you?

I doubt you were in SP, or close to a WILD. When I thought staying still was the key to WILDs, I also got weird feelings in my body. I think anybody can get them if they stay still long enough. And frankly, I hate those feelings. They're uncomfortable and they prevent me from falling asleep.

Erible, I havn't had a WILD yet. I'm planning on getting it done pretty soon though. And Elucive, you said in another post that you don't have to be still to WILD. This conflicts with every WILD tut I've read. Explain please?

You were close I had the exact thing happen to me like to nights ago. Except that my eyes would radomly open and I couldn't hold them down. Wow you joined the same time as me but have 7 times the Lucid dream amount I have. Sorry to hijack your thread but any tips?

I know it does, lol. I honestly don't understand why all the early WILD tut suggest to stay perfectly still. For some people, staying still can become extremely uncomfortable, and can keep us awake, which is the opposite of what we're trying to do. You need to fall asleep to WILD. I know whats happening to you guys. You're laying there staring into the blackness of your eyes, thinking that you're making progress when you're really not.

You have to fall asleep conciously. What this means, basically, is to go to sleep like you normally do every night, with a minor twist. There are two threads I want you to read, if you haven't already. These are the two best WILD tuts you'll EVER find on the Internet. "Why you fail at WILDS", by Mzzkc. And "How to WILD", by BillyBob.

then what IS the key to WILDS?

oh and I don't stay PERFECTLY still sometimes I find rolling over after some time is better

it's so weird when that happens with our eyes...and my face was cringing it was weird!
and haha well, I had my first lucid dream 3 days after joining dreamviews, I've had 4 in a week (my record for most in a week, since joining)
but I just keep a dream journal and do reality checks. The thing for me isn't getting lucid, the hard part for me is getting a clear dream...
I've only had DILDs, but I might have had a WILD but I really can't remember exactly what happened...(I was trying to WILD during the middle of the night then the first thing i remember is that I was in my bed and it was a dream) but anyway, I don't really have many tips...try setting alarms in the middle of the night (that helps me with dream recall and stuff)
what do you seem to be having problems with? becoming lucid? I might be able to help

There is no universal key. Everyone is unique... If there WAS a key, everyone would be WILDing on their first try. Just make sure you do what you can to fall asleep.

What do you do particularly?

I have to wake up into it. (DEILD) I haven't found the perfect anchor for me yet, so I just enjoy fast WILDs when I can.

what exactly do you do? I know it's when you wake up from a dream and re enter it, I've read tutorials, what do you personally do for a deild?

I get lucky I guess, because I do it after a DILD. Basically, I'm already lucid, and when the dream ends I remember to stay still, and in seconds I'm in a new dream. It happens so fast it's hard to maintain lucidity. I've tried doing it without being lucid first, but it never works. Last night, my girlfriend was sleeping over, and everytime she moved it would wake me up. I never moved though. I would pop out of sleep, perfectly still and nothing would happen. I didn't notice it at that time though, it was in the morning that I started thinking wow I woke up and stood still alot, why didn't anything happen??

Anyways, those are the only times I WILD. I have to be lucid first through DILD.

hhmmmm that makes sense, I've trained myself not to open my eyes when I wake up, just in case haha
because I was doing the "CAN WILD" technique, and it requires you not to open your eyes, it took a while, but now when I wake up randomly in the middle of the night, I keep my eyes shut until I know i have no chance of doing something that involves lucid dreaming

What happened was SP.

And yes you should stay still during your WILD attempts. BUT if you are uncomfertable then move the uncomfertable spot. Because if you dont than you will not sleep and you will not WILD. Just move little parts of your body not a lot. Try to form an image in your head. And keep your mind with the image not your body... If you can stay away from thinking of your body then you will probably not feel uncomfertable because the body will hit SP without your mind really knowing about it. If you put people in your vision then stay away from giving it dialog.

but I wasn't in SP yet, I didn't feel a wave...and I could tell because I would slightly try to move my body (without really moving) and the only thing I felt was kind of like a "surge" if you will, but not painfull ( mainly happens in fingers)

Ive been this close and closer probobly a few nights ago. But it was like something was moving up my face. A pressure moving up my face and i was waiting for it to reach the top but it never did. It was weird.

The wierdest feeling for me was my arm feeling like it was bending I can't even explain the feeling!

Just because you didnt feel a wave doesnt mean you werent in SP.

First of all pretty much everybody feels Sp differiently. And second the "wave" (if felt at all) happenes close to the end of SP. If you were just in the lower part of SP you shouldnt feel it.
