This past month I have been reading about different techniques to induce a LD. Even though I have been interested in them for a while I have yet to experience one. Before today I have only used the DILD technique, and have yet to make any progress. I have not been able to find patterns in my dreams either, making the DILD technique harder. Today I decided to try a WILD technique. I attempted it in the afternoon at 6:00PM (about 6 hours before I normally go to bed).
My sense of time was non existent but I would say I was counting my breaths for about 25 minutes before anything "interesting" happened. I could hear light noise from outside my window, when suddenly the sound started to disappear. The noise was replaced with a light buzzing in my ears. Even though I could still hear some sound from the outside world, it was not as loud as before and most was replaced by the buzzing. Shortly after that I could feel my eyes beginning to twitch. I tried hard to stop the twitching but looking back i'm not sure if I should of done that...I did not feel like I experienced any hallucinations, besides some faint light patterns that would only last a few seconds before returning to darkness. I started counting my breaths but found it hard to concentrate so instead I started to tell myself that I would enter a lucid dream. After a large noise from outside my window (I think it was from outside my window :S), I decided to give up and ask for some help. Overall the experience later an hour and ten minutes
After having this experience I had to ask some questions...The time I tried to WILD could be considered a typical napping time for me, however I rarely nap since I don't normally feel tired durning the day. Should I try again at a later time and if so what would you recommend (I typically go to bed between 10PM - 11PM PM and wake up at 6:30AM - 7:00AM)? I am open to WBTB. is the buzzing sound a good thing? Should I of let my eyes twitch? Something I never thought of until i started was my mouth/swallowing. Is it OK to sallow or will that require you to start over?
To clarify about my eye "twitch". It was not a typical twitch. My eyeball would not stop moving. my eyelid remained shut however. I found it almost painful to keep my eyeball in one place.
If posible, I will attempt any suggested times/methods tonight!
Thanks!
