      The "Falling Asleep" part

So I've read a few tutorials on WILDing and some of them said that many people forget that WILDing means "to fall asleep while concious" (or something along those lines...). And that you actually need to fall asleep.

I mean obviously you need to be asleep to dream, but falling asleep normally?

So I don't really understand what they mean, because you need to remain aware. You can't just fall asleep. Do they mean you need to remain in that stage where you don't feel totally awake, kind of dozing off?

I can easily get to that stage, where my body and mind feels kind of numb, I'm just wanting to clarify this

      Thanks

no, its a bit past that, IIRC.

basically, you fall asleep while still conscious/thinking/etc...

When I wrote that, I meant what I said. Awareness is secondary to falling asleep, and if you focus too much on awareness, it's going to be next to impossible to fall asleep, which defeats the purpose of a WILD. As such, everything you can do to help yourself fall asleep is only going to help. If that means approaching a WILD as if you were sleeping normally, then that's what you should do.

What I mean by that is you shouldn't do anything special for your WILD outside of your awareness exercise (which is necessary for most WILD methods). If you've chosen the right awareness technique (one that doesn't hinder falling asleep), then you should be pretty set.
