      Question FILD, WILD, or Both?

      This isn't in my DJ, but I'm just curious on your opinion.

      I might have been dreaming when I did the FILD, but I am not sure.

      I am just laying in bed, thinking, and I notice I am tired enough to try to FILD. So I tap my fingers a bit and close my eyes, when I enter some HH. It feels like a really fast roller coaster (freakin awesome!) and this lasts for what feels like a minute or two. It went faster as time went on. A few times during this it felt like my head lifted up slightly from my pillow. Then my upper body just lifts up slowly then falls back down. I open my eyes and I am in my room. I can barely move and it was darker than it usually is. I wake up and fifteen minutes have passed.

      So, do you think it was a FILD, WILD, or both?

      Well isn't a fild like a wild but just using your fingers to induce sp. So I say both. That's weird. Everytime I've actually gone through sp and make it to a dream, my room is much darker than it usually is. But then I wake up as soon as I realize, oh shit I'm dreaming.
      Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.

      Oh yea, that's true haha. Well then it must have been a wild, with help of using fingers to stay conscious.

      A FILD is a specific subset of WILD - you're going straight from consciousness to unconsciousness, which makes it a wake induced lucid dream. Moving your fingers is just an anchor to keep you from drifting completely into unconsciousness, and to remind you to reality check sometime later. The FILD technique is different than the general WILD because you usually, but don't have to, go straight from waking up to doing a FILD: because you're already close to sleep, you generally don't experience hallucinations. As you experienced, this isn't absolutely always true. So to answer your question: yes, it was both, because whenever you FILD, you are also WILDing.

      Unless, of course, this was all really done in a dream, in which case this is a DILD.
