This morning I woke up at 4:30 like I do every day and started to do VILD (a technique I've never tried before) but I was thinking about my settings but I just sort of stopped thinking.
I sort of drifted between sleep and waking for a while, but I became conscious of a high-pitched sort of buzzing in my ears.
When I realised it was there, it sort of faded out for a while until I couldn't hear anything. I then rolled over and went to sleep.

So, this is my trouble;
The moment I know that I'm hearing buzzing or something, it fades out. The more I think, the more conscious I become. If I ignore it, I fall asleep (or never actually notice it, haha )

What can I do to retain this state without dropping to either extreme?
