I went to bed last night and slept about 5 hours (maybe more, I'm not sure) before my alarm went off, then I went to the bathroom, and then to the kitchen to take 300 mg of Choline and 8 mg of Galantamine for a supplement induced WILD.
When I sat back in bed, I felt like I had an uncomfortably full bladder, even though I just went to the bathroom and only had a small cup of water with my pills, and I was very alert. I tried to relax and lay there for maybe a half hour, and when that wasn't working, I decided to play a game on my iTouch to distract me and help me wind down. After 15-30 minutes playing that, I actually did start to feel tired, so I dropped my iTouch and tried sleeping again.
Eventually, sleep paralysis started to kick in, and I didn't like the feeling at all so I resisted and moved out of it the first few times, feeling physically exhausted as well, before I remembered that I want to accept the paralysis and move into the dream state. It was hard, especially because I was afraid of having creepy dreams, since before I woke up they were starting to get creepy, but I took the plunge and just let it wash over me. I felt the sensations of a wave of water pushing me back and forth, although I don't remember if this happened next or if it was just a part of a dream I was already having earlier or later. I was, however, focusing on the vivid and relaxing sensation.
I then had a dim false awakening of getting out of bed, going into my mom's room and talking to my mom and sister. Then I woke up. The dream couldn't have lasted more than a couple minutes. I kept waking up and falling asleep for short segments with these false awakenings. None of it was very vivid and I was nowhere close to lucidity.
I was notably exhausted and it was hard to get out of bed. I think this happened to me the last time I tried to take these supplements.
Why do I have such bad luck with attaining lucidity? I've never induced a lucid dream that lasted longer than maybe 10-20 seconds and it was never very bright, clear or solid. It always noticeably deteriorates when I become aware of the dream, and the tactile sensations go the quickest. Even with supplements, which are supposed to kick start lucid dreaming, I can't get the amazing results that others seem to be getting so easily. Any suggestions?
I'm not doing the supplements again until the night after next, to recuperate.
