Thread: a "wtf" WILD, just wondering if this is common

So I'm waken up at around 6am to move my car (I was parked behind my roommate in the driveway), because she had to go to work.
I went to bed around midnight, so I thought "well I've been asleep for the right amount of time, I'll try a WILD."
So I go back to bed, and begin to clear my mind of everything and just focus on whatever random images, sounds, etc. that my mind brings me.
I'm three seconds into it, literally my eyes were closed for like three seconds, and BAM!!
I see intense visualizations of a horizontal tunnel, I feel my body being puled through it faster than the speed of light, and insanely loud sounds of pulsating electricity. This tunnel was made of what looked like beams of plasma, lying horizontally to me; and every time one of them passed me, I heard a loud sounds I can only describe as electricity. But I was heading so fast down this tunnel, that these sounds occurred five or ten times every second. This on top of the intense g-force I felt on my body as I was heading through this strange tunnel, gave for a very intense experience.
Normally, WILDs build up to this, but instead all of this happened at once; with no build up whatsoever, just... BAM!!! haha
Needless to say I was so startled by the suddenness of this, I was not able to get my heart rate down enough to stay in the same state.

I was just wondering if this has ever happened to anybody else.

P.S. I say "horizontal tunnel," because there where no walls; just a floor and a ceiling that continued on for eternity (both being made of those strange beams of plasma).

Wow, that sounds like fun! Last time I tried at a WILD all I could see was black, dammit.. I ask, did you manage to lucid dream, or did you wake up because your heart was pounding?

I suppose it could happen if you're tired enough. I'm no expert on these things thought.

Hmm sounds pretty awesome! You must be a natural! I have had similar experiences where after getting up to turn the coffee maker on I'd lie down and I'd be right in a dream. But I've never actually experienced the sensations you speak of.

That's the thing! I'm not a natural! I've tried WILDs so many times before, and they've all ended after I reached SP. But this time was just... insane haha
I'm just wondering if people who are skilled with WILDs have ever experienced something this intense with visualizations and everything.

I once went to bed and about 10 seconds later I heard a popping sound a few inches from my head and then a siren inside my head. I saw a very bright, vivid tunnel of green and white swirling light. At the end of the tunnel was a disc of pure, brilliant white light. I was in complete sleep paralysis and I was floating down the tunnel. This happened about 20 years ago and back then it freaked me out so much I flung my arms out and broke the spell. Dammit I wish I'd gone through the white disc as I read a few years later that the American psychic, Edgar Cayce, often has had the exact same experience and when he goes through the disc he is in the realm of the afterlife

Nice, so it has happened to somebody else (at least something very similar). Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one who this has happened to, it kind of freaked me out haha.
