      Exclamation WILDing hurts. :(

Is this kind of pain normal when trying to WILD? I've read about that urge to roll over and everything, and how it can be so strong it is painful. I kinda of felt that urge, but the pain was in my knees. It was bearable at first, then become extremely hard to ignore. I had to stop what I was doing and get up. I had tried my best.

But anyway, is this ALWAYS going to happen when I try to induce SP intentionally? I think I was almost there (I heard a faint ringing, the kind I hear in SP) but I just couldn't handle it.

I've had that a couple times. It doesn't happen all the time though. I had one time my arm sort of started hurting
and I couldn't keep going. It doesn't happen too often though.

Unfortunately from what you describe I don't think you were very close. When you hear
the ringing, thats just your head going numb up around your ears. You have to be patient
with it. It takes me about an hour to two hours to get to the transition into sleep paralysis.
And trust me, when you get to that transition, you'll know!

Are you sure? I was laying still for a good two hours. Mind you I was only practicing, not actually expecting to successfully WILD.

I started out laying for about 3 hours I didn't realize it but I kept moving very slightly by accident.
When you get better at staying still, it won't take as long.

Yeah, I have trouble with those too. But you just have to keep
trying to stay still. If you twitch its not the end. You may feel your
body wake up a little but not too much.

What are you talking about laying still for 3 hours?! I think you're doing it wrong...are you doing it in the middle of the night? The point of a WILD is to fall asleep, (and stay "awake" of course) does it normally take you 3 hours to fall asleep? And I thought the twitches were a sign that you were close and were supposed to happen? And how do I manage to end every sentence as a question so as not to offend anyone?

Not anymore, it did at first but I was new to WILDing and I wasn't as good at staying
still as I am now. It takes practice, and I have it down to about 30 minutes until I reach
some form of early sp now. I have also noticed that it helps to be more tired. I think I'm
going to stay up a little later tonight to try to get my body more tired and try my WILDing
techniques then. Also, no offense was taken. I am happy to receive your input .

To me it sounds like you're trying it when you go to bed for the night which is a really hard thing to do. Try doing after getting a little bit of sleep...such as after a WBTB.

I am, but its easier for me then. It doesn't work as well with WBTB or a nap.

Nah, this won't happen all the time. HH/HI will be different nearly every WILD attempt. Its best to just try and ignore the unwanted hallucinations and they usually go away. Make sure you aren't locking your knees (obstructing blood flow), or this may be actual pain and not a hallucination. It sounds like you were close...keep practicing.

That is a problem right there. Even if you are just practicing...expect to succeed. Know in your mind that you will be able to successfully WILD and your chances at success will more than double from this alone.
