Thread: Was I close?

I just attempted a wild wbtb type thing for the first time last night ( ive never had a lucid) and i was layiung on my back still didnt move and counting my breaths after a while my legs began to tingle and sorta twitch then i lost hearing and heard white noise but no HH then suddenly white noise quit and it was like i was fulkly awake again ? was i close at all?

Well, the white noise was HH. I believe you were in the very early on-set of SP. This is where you will experience some numbness, maybe some light vibrations and light HI. After a bit, SP will fully set in and you will be well on your way. You made some progress. Just keep practicing! Good luck to you and if you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Learn to drift into sleep without analyzing the HH too much, that may have caused you to become too alert, thus taking you out of it. You were still in sleep stage 1, which is a pretty fragile state. Like Yoshi said, SP will set in after a while and you'll be home free. From there, just stay relaxed and you'll be able to enter the dream.
