      Dreamt of a WILD?

I have been trying to use WILD for about a week now with little success. Usually when I wake up I'm too tired to attempt it or fall asleep straight away. This only really happened though when I got up especially early. I noticed then that at weekends my sleep tends to fragment into about 30 minute periods of REM after which I wake up for about 5 minutes before going back into a dream. This can happen about 5 times.

Although the sleep I get in this period is extremely poor and disrupted I thought it may be good for attempting WILD. Again though I kept falling asleep without being lucid, probably due to the fact I wasn't awake enough before trying it. Something strange happened today though.

I had been trying to WILD all morning with no success but found that, at the end of one of my dreams, I became ever so slightly lucid. Just enough to be aware of the fact I was currently in a dream. This in itself was somewhat reassuring as the particular dream I was having was fast becoming a nightmare. The reason I became lucid was because I felt a sudden falling sensation and the entire dream seemed to fall away. I had read that a lot of people experienced this when using WILD. Then followed a strong shuddering feeling accompanied by a warbling sort of noise. It got pretty loud before I opened my eyes which seemed to be having some sort of fit as they darted around randomly for a good 3 seconds before I found myself awake in my room. I did a quick RC just to check.

So my question really is, did I dream about WILD or is this something that you experience when exiting a dream lucidly?

Ah, it sounds to me like you almost performed a DEILD without even realizing it. A DEILD is a particular type of WILD, btw. If you ever become lucid at the end of a dream like that, these are excellent opportunities to DEILD. Basically, you just lay still and keep your eyes closed as you wake up from the dream. You will sometimes experience some brief HH (which was your warbling sound, falling sensation, etc) and you will then transition back into a lucid dream. DEILD actually stands for Dream Exit Induced Lucid Dream. You should give it a look in the tutorial section of the DreamViews wiki.
