Don't think you failed if sleep paralysis suddenly stops.

I see a lot of people say that they are in SP and it suddenly stops. Don't think you failed. Always assume you are dreaming. WILDs often start as False Awakenings, don't get discouraged by thinking you woke up, get up and do a reality check to make sure. Many of my WILDs start in a completely black and silent environment, as if I had woken up again and have my eyes closed.
Many times I have simply opened my dream eyes, expecting that it is a dream, did a reality check and found out that I was actually dreaming. If you have trouble opening your dream eyes without waking up, just imagine you are standing up instead of laying down. And look at your hands for stability while you create a door and walk through to get somewhere you want to go. Just a little tip I thought I'd share

Thanks! Ironically the other day when I was napping on the couch I thought I woke up. I felt like I was paralyzed and thought I snapped out of it and woke up..Told my brother about it and asked him if anything strange happened to me..of course he says "No" then I wake up for real. I wake False awakenings, another one almost happened to me today. I was already lucid when it happened though so no effects really.
Lucid dreaming takes three things: Patience, practice, and perseverance.

Yeah, WILDs also like to start in the exact same place that you fell asleep. Don't be fooled simply because you are still lying in your bed.

"WILDs often start as False Awakenings"

I have such a hard time with this, because if they were false awakenings then wouldn't we wake up AGAIN?
Sometimes I feel like I have broke through SP but it just turns out I'm still in my room and nothing has changed and then I go back to bed. How could this be a false awakening when I have never even awoke in the first place?

Well, in your case, it wouldn't technically be a false awakening. It is still important to perform a RC just to check and see if you are dreaming. I'm not saying this is what is happening to you, but keep this in mind. You may think SP has broke when in actuality, you have transitioned and are now in a dream. WILDs often start in the exact same spot and position in which you have been laying. So, before you just lay back down and go back to bed, check and see if you actually succeeded without realizing it.
