      Half WILD

So I've been semi-experimenting when going to sleep while trying to stay conscious. Have you ever had that moment where you were just starting to dream and then you realize you're sort of in that dream state only to suddenly jolt out of it?

I tried the WILD through SP when I first went to bed, but after being unsuccessful (and reading on the forums it's not that good to begin with) I tried to see if I could stay conscious while gradually falling asleep.

I'd let my mind drift as I usually do, thinking about whatever came to mind ( I'm very imaginative when it comes to playing out scenarios in my head). Eventually once I starting drifting, those mental thoughts start to become images. However, I'd reach a point and snap myself out of it (almost like a twitch) only to be amazed at the sounds that were once blocked out came flooding in, the feel of the bed, etc.

So to keep things short: Does this seem like a legitimate method of WILD? And more importantly, how can I stop these "jolts"? I don't want to muck up any lucid dream I have by getting too excited like I usually do.

That moment when you jolt out of it is because you're being too aware. If you let the thoughts continue to drift in and out, you'll eventually wake up within a dream and not reality.

Not it's more about your own concentration. You have to be aware enough to know not to focus on any individual thought. You have to let your mind wonder.
