With WILD I get stuck at the end. Help?

I saw another thread on here that's much older where rain had a similar problem but I think I can offer a more in-depth explanation

I meditate so I have no trouble clearing my mind and watching the HI. I can get my body into sleep paralysis all the way up to my head where my mouth goes to sleep. At this point I have vivid HI but I don't know where to go from here. I've tried the following:

-Passively watching the imagery without having any thoughts enter my mind.
-Trying to focus in depth on a scene in my mind, only on that scene, and just imagine more and more details.
-Trying to look past the HI to see if something will form.
-Just staying awake and really not paying attention to anything.
      -Rolling out of my body.
-Trying to picture myself falling through my bed.
-Laying on my back, then switching to my side.

Either way I have only had one WILD (truly an awesome experience) but I did it completely on accident. I was just sitting up a bit in bed, more or less just daydreaming (about 11am) and then all of a sudden I realized I was in a forest. At the time all I had to do was focus on the mental picture that appeared in my mind of a forest and it got clearer. I was laying in the same position I was in in my bed and had sheets on me but I was on the forest floor against a tree. I have no idea what I did different.

Now during my WILD attempts I just get to a point that's more meditative than anything. I feel as though my consciousness is expanded and much larger than normal, my whole body is asleep and the HI basically goes away..
Im just lying there (in an admittedly quite comfortable state of being) numb, feeling different but I don't know where to go, I'm basically still completely awake. Half the time I get up, a little frustrated and fall on my face because my legs are still in a sleep coma.

Now where I seem to have the most success is when I say "**** it" and just start to let go and let my mind wander. Then a lot of times I'll start to see imagery but as soon as my attention acknowledges it, it's immediately gone. Donezo. I can't seem to find a good balance at this point so any help would be cool. It's just frustrating because I feel like I've tried a whole bunch of different mental approaches

I have a feeling this is the part where it's like "Cool story bro, but we can't tell you how to organize your mental activity. You have to figure this part out for yourself.."

At least you can get into SP, I'm still trying to be able to do that

Yeah I'm definitely not ungrateful for how far I can get, I would just like to be able to do the whole process. I have a feeling if I can figure out this next step and explain it well it will help a lot of people. The thing that I've found is key for the SP to kick in man, is to remove any focus you have on your body. You've probably heard that before, but just anytime while you're laying there and you start to think about your leg or your arm or whatever, just let the thought pass if that makes sense. Don't engage it or focus on it and you won't be drawn to focus on it to the point it disrupts your process. The hardest thing for me is when you get the urge to swallow laying there, but I've found my tongue naturally sort of moves back a little bit and presses lightly against the roof of my mouth. This really helps remove the "dry mouth-need to swallow" urge that can get annoying. Then I just stop thinking about it like I said up there ^.
