Help identifying - WILD or something else

I'm a noob LDer. Have only 5 MILD/WBTB/DILDs under my belt. Was not trying to WILD.

Couple of nights ago, I read a tutorial on re-entering collapsed LD. So when my WBTB DILD ended from some noise in the house, I remembered what to do. I didn't move a muscle, didn't open my eyes.

Immediately, started to feel very light and some waves of pure relaxation were going from my feet to my head. Very intense. I knew that I was falling asleep.

Then, I had the strangest sensation of sinking into my bed in such way, as if my butt was sunk in deeper than my head, torso and legs. And I was sinking in deeper and deeper, it felt like many meters deep into my mattress, with continuous feeling of fast movement towards down.

It actually felt really good, like the feeling you get in your stomach on a rollercoaster. Then, I saw a face that was screaming and I heard a scream in my head. I kinda "woke up", then I realized, it's me. By now, I felt as I was making an U-shape. My hands and feet almost touching each other being much higher than my butt - (kinda like hanging by hands and feet tied together). And I emerged in my next LD.

I didn't feel any SP. It all took about 1 minute. So, could you guys help me identify, if this was in any shape a WILD? Beginning of OBE? Or something else? Thanks a lot.

What you described was your body becoming more relaxed, as you were falling deeper into sleep. The feeling of sinking into your bed is a sign that you were entering Sleep Paralysis.. You were also experiencing auditory hallucinations.

If you would have held on for a little while longer you would have begun to see hypnagogic imagery, from which you could enter a dream (WILD).

Sounds like a WILD to me. This is how I typically enter a LD - just without the screaming part
Lying very relaxed and then start moving my dreambody by either just sliding or falling, or by a rocking motion that grows until moving freely. The screaming part sounds a bit like what can happen during a false awakening.
With a bit of practice one can easily have a chain of WILDs that way. For me often the LDs get more stable later in the chain, so I can then have a longer LD. I am now starting to be able to sometimes jump back to where I left the previous LD, but most times I have to start again from my dream bed.

Now that you know how it feels, you can do it again!

@Seroquel - Thank you - do you mean, that have I stayed concious and aware of that feeling longer, I would have entered a WILD, but because I have not, I just entered different type of LD? To me it felt, as I have entered an LD immediately.

Thanks Kilpikonna. I just have to remember, not to move when waking up, and I'll definitely try again.

You would have entered a Lucid Dream, using the WILD method. Lucid dreams are lucid dreams regardless of the method you used to get there. But yes, if you would have remained conscious without moving for a moment longer you could have entered a lucid dream.

You were very close. You just need to relax and let your body fall asleep while remaining conscious of it all.
