Any last minute words of advice while WILDing?

Hey everyone. I'm new to the community and only been trying to go lucid for around 4 days and trying it through WILDing. I'm gunna attempt again in about 10-20 mins or so. Just wondered if there are any key pointers to bear in mind while I attempt it? Thanks guys, I've really enjoyed the friendliness of folk around here. Great little community. Cheers

Hey! Read mine and lawliahd's posts in this thread: http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/how-do...-dream-123631/

But the most common misstake people do is that they, try to reach "Sleep paralysis" and then they convince themself that they are in sleep paralysis and nothing happens and they give up.
Then they go here and ask why they couldn't transition.. No one knows exactly what happens when you start dreaming, but we sort of know that you need to be in rem to dream vividly.
      A THEORY:
So you have to lay still for a long time and deprive your senses until you nervalsystem get overloaded sort of, and you start to hallucinate, but it's only when you hit REM you will experience these vivid thoughts as an experience. So lay still, get totallt relaxed (this takes the most time), look for non-physical sensations, amplify these, get up you are dreaming!

      Good luck!

I would try WBTB if you are gonna WILD. I actually had the longest LD I've ever had via WILD just yesterday, and I'll tell you exactly how it went for me. I went to sleep late, like at 12 and probably fell asleep at exactly 12:30. Then I woke up in the middle of the night naturally, around 5:30 i'd say. I went to the washroom, got a drink of water and then came back to bed, read a bit of stuff on DV until I no longer felt groggy, and then I went back to sleep. Like in Yoshi's WILD technique, I changed sides every 10 minutes or so, because the point of a WILD is actually to fall asleep but become slightly aware right before you fully lose the consciousness, and for me, I can't sleep on my back most of the time so I kept changing sides. Eventually I lost consciousness and very randomly for seemingly no reason at all, I became aware of the fact that I was trying to go for a WILD and then 5 seconds later SP hit me, I felt and heard vibrations and in a matter of seconds, without any visualization, I was in a LD, and one that lasted for about half an hour with relatively litle stabilization needed. Remember to stay calm when SP hits you the first time, cuz you will most definetly be scared the first time, and remain calm, you don't have to visualize anything, just wait for either a dream scene to appear in front of your eyes, or wait for the vibrations to stop and get out of bed and check if you are dreaming.

Thanks for the tips. I failed unfortunately. I can recall the dream I had (I did WBTB then wild) but never became aware. Think I fell unconscious while trying to enter SP. its still early days. I can stay calm now through the SP stage and through the vibrations but I think I stopped them by being too conscious or something. I tried to wild as soon as I got to bed too, and was so close to achidvement but I guess I'm just not quite there yet

Don't worry about it, you've only been trying for a couple days. If you give up now, you'll never experience what its really like, and most of us wait much longer than a few weeks before we got our first lucid. I did, and of course I'm still no expert in WILD or LD'ing, but the trick to the WILD would be you gaining very slight awareness right before falling fully unconcsious.

      keep tryin and good luck!

It's getting frustrating but maybe I should only be attempting it when I have the time to sleep in...think there's too much on my mind at the moment with work and an extra job I have. I'll keep going of course cause I knew it wouldn't be easy, it's just I fell into SP on my first attempt, now it seems like I can't even get to that stage :/ I seem to ly there for hours...I only had two very short dreams last night and I tried WBTB to wild but failed. I definitly awoke during REM I just couldn't get back off to sleep consciously. Kinda feels like I took a step forewards then a leap backwards :/
