      Am I doing something wrong?

Last night, I had a (non-lucid) dream. I woke up in the dream (false awakening) and I was on my computer, when out of nowhere the dream fades and an extremely bright light is shining in my eyes. It dissipates, and I have body paralysis, and my whole room is spinning. It stops and I think that it's a perfect time to try a wild (It's about 5:30 AM)

I lay back down and don't move. My position was that I was on my stomach, my right hand under my pillow, and my left hand was rubbing against my waist(I tried to move it away without re-positioning, but it kept sliding back down) . My legs weren't touching. About 5 minutes passes and a very odd, intense tingling sensation starts from my upper thigh, works up the torso, but stops halfway under my shoulders towards my hands(I assumed it was my body trying to paralyze again) The first time it happened, my heart was racing as I hadn't actually experienced this before. I tried to calm down, and managed to for the most part, until it would appear again(It never got below my thigh or past below the upper half of my shoulder). After about the 6th time it did it, I wasn't as excited as I was, but was eager to get past the stage of body paralysis (what I thought it was) It happened about 7-9 times in total. I gave up because I thought I was doing something wrong, and went back to sleep normally.

So was I doing something wrong? Should I not be touching my self (not like that) at all when I try to WILD? Or was it because I was too excited, or anticipating the next stage?

Trying to relax and WILD around my heart beating uncomfortably hard is one of the more difficult WILDing tasks. The heartbeat just keeps snapping me back into my real body. My advice to you is, try to already be imagining some sort of situation in your head. Not just something boring like walking around your room looking at objects, but something you want to do in your dream--like talk to someone, or fly, or whatever. Try to immerse yourself in the imagery so that you lose track of your body. Then when the sensations hit, they either won't pull you out of your imagery or you'll be able to go right back to it. Focusing on slowing your heartbeat by changing your breathing or something will only serve to anchor you in the real world, I've found. Try to ignore it or keep track of it passively. Hopefully you'll end up transitioning soon afterwards. Good luck.
We were always dreaming of how it was going to be.

How long have you been trying? WILDing can take time to learn how to do and to do it right, but keep confident and don't give up! I recommend you don't focus too much on actually WILDing. A lot of people only think about SP/WILDing while attempting. You need to focus on the dream and let it comes to you easily.

I've been trying for about 2 weeks or so. Not everyday though, just when I wake up in the middle of the night.

Don't worry, bud. It can take a while for you to get any WILDs, most people have their first WILD accidentally. After that, it becomes a lot easier. Just keep at it.
