Blacking Out During WILD but Still Entering Dream

So in my recent WILD attempts I black out after about 15 minutes but regain consciousness in a dream version of my bedroom, from there I can 'roll out of body' and begin a begin a lucid dream.

Am I WILDing in a traditional sense, or am I dreaming a transition due to auto-suggestion? Should I accept this as a technique of inducing lucid dreams or strive to be conscious through the whole transition?

As a further note, sometimes I become conscious when I'm 'sucked' into sleep paralysis and it feels pretty similar to SP when DEILDing, and yet the whole experience seems somehow 'fake'. Weird stuff.

But you know I know when it's a dream
      I think I know I mean a yes
      But it's all wrong
That is I think I disagree

One question, correct me if I wrong, you are attempting to WILD -> fall asleep -> get an FA -> start LDing, so my question is how do you know you were out 15 minutes since you fell asleep, then didn't wake up, start a dream?

If I'm right about the order I mentioned above, you are not WILDing, but you should definitely accept it as a technique of inducing lucid dreams. FAs are much more vivid than DILDs.

About the WILDing attempts, what method do you use, step by step?

I subjectively think I lie 15 minutes before blacking out, it may be longer, it may be shorter.

I guess it may be seen as a MILD if I'm just inducing false awakenings, but I'd like so badly to WILD :/

I lie down and either count breaths or focus on my breathing and 'brow chakra', I shift position if I feel uncomfortable.

Oh before you black out, ok.

Hell, I wish I can induce FA

Well I don't know how long have you been trying LDing, but you seem to do it regularly. Now another question, when do you do those things? After you sleep for 3-4 hours, or before you sleep?

A bit careless of me, I usually specify I WBTB, so yeah I attempt after 5-7 hours sleep. Length of WBTB varies, but typically it's a couple of minutes to gather my thoughts, I may experiment with longer WBTBs.

I've been LDing since April last year when I joined here, and yeah I can induce 2-3 lucid dreams a week using MILD, so I can't complain there Are you a natural lucid dreamer?

An additional note: In the majority of my lucid dreams I FA immediately after becoming lucid and then find it difficult to teleport from my neighbourhood >_<

      I guess I am

Well the method I used for WILD is: sleep for 4 hours => wake up via alarm => stay conscious for 1-5 minutes (standing, sitting etc) => lie down => SP => OBE

Right now I am experimenting with another method, instead of moving after I wake, I don't move at all. I just hear alarm go off, and then try to stay conscious and wait for SP.

The key is catching that moment, believe me it is not hard. If you sleep for 4-6 hours then wake up, the urge to sleep again is huge. That's why the SP happens in 1-2 minute if you manage to stay conscious.

My alarm lasts for a 60 seconds (a whole freaking minute!) so I've ruled out the use of an alarm for purposes of DEILD.

I may try sleeping for a shorter time but having a longer WBTB
I think I just need to keep on trying, thanks for the advice

      You're welcome

By the way the first method I mentioned is not DEILD but WILD. Because you wait for some time before going to bed again. Thus you can use the alarm, then turn it off.

Very almost reached full sleep paralysis last night. I did WBTB at 2 am (4 hours prior sleep) and lay down observing my closed eyelids, keeping some attention on my breathing and the ticking of my clock but also inducing auditory hypnagogia by imagining snippets of songs and familiar voices. After a while I have a feeling of my attention snapping back onto my body, my body feels partially paralysed and my breathing and heart rate are more rapid, I try to calm down and keep trying but fall asleep.

Great to hear that Well when I am in SP, I couldn't even realize if I was breathing or not, so I guess yours was not full SP. But keep doing that method whenever you can. Eventually you'll have full SP, then fortunately a WILD.
