      Staying Awake

I have had an accidental DEILD and an accidental WILD (I woke up and I wake trying to pretend I was asleep when my parents walked into the room lol), but whenever I try to WILD intentionally, I always end up falling asleep. I have followed Jeff's Free Falling WILD technique. I recognize the illogical thoughts and I slow my breathing, but I always end up falling asleep at the countdown. It has happened for other techniques as well, like the SSILD. I can't seem to keep awake :/ Any tips?

well first if you recognize your thoughts your body will know your mind is awake and tus you will likely fail. i suggest letting your thoughts come and go and not really thinking about them too much and this goes the same for any HI you encounter. as for staying awake i like to use a mantra or count my brething. have you read the DVA WILD classes i found them very helpfull.

The falling asleep is a good thing, that's when we dream. What you should be working on is being aware of it happening. I suspect that counting might be a bad anchor for you, since it doesn't keep you aware during falling asleep. That or you are using it the wrong way and need more practice with it.

      Good Luck, Tucane
