      dreams ending/fading question

how do most dreams end? do they just stop or do they kinda fade away?
have you ever had a lucid dream were you got exited and it faded away? thats what i mean by fade away.

the reason i am asking is because i only remember experiencing this 2 times, ever. and both times i realised it must be a dream because its fading away like that and i stayed still and successfully DEILDed.

and i never seem to remember the end of dreams, as if they just end. so if it is a rare thing to experience it fade away then i wont bother but if it happens with all or most dreams then i will try to use that to DEILD.
i would use an auto suggestion with something like "i will catch my dream ending"
if they do fade away and this would be a decent method could someone please give tips on a better autosuggestion for it, or would that one work well?

My dreams usually end by fading away. The dream scene would slowly turn dark or the colors become less vivid until I finally wake up. Some dreams also end dramatically. Some are abrupt, where you just suddenly wake up, and even more dramatic ones where the dream scene shatters like glass. There are many ways dreams end, i think it's different for everyone, and it sometimes depends on the kind of dream you were having.

But yes, using autosuggestion to catch your dream fading is a nice idea for attaining lucidity. However, it might be harder to stay in the dream. What I mean is, since you are naturally ending a dream cycle and starting to wake up, if you successfully catch it and become lucid, it might be a bit hard to prolong the dream. But you can, of course as you stated, use it for DEILDs. So either way, you get something out of it!

You can use any autosuggestion, as long as it is meaningful to you, and it really reminds you of your goal.

      Good luck.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

      ok thanx,
i think this is a good deild technique because you get time to make sure you dont move when you wake.
do you know if when doing auto suggestion when going to bed, do you just do it for a bit then go to sleep or do you keep saying it till you fall asleep?

I do my mantras repeatedly until I fall asleep. Strangely enough, I fall asleep quite quickly. So not only does it remind me about my goals, it also helps me fall asleep easier if you want, you can also do it for a bit, if you're planning to do some visualization right before bed. But in my opinion, it would be better to do the mantras until you sleep because I think it would help more if if was the last thing on your mind, and it will be easier to sort of remember it once you're dreaming.
