My first ever lucid dream happened about a year-and-a-half ago. I had never thought about lucid dreams before, but earlier that same day I had bought a book by Stephen LaBerge on the very subject. Anyway, the dream went along the lines of what I'm about to tell you (at a year-and-a-half later however, I'm probably forgetting some things).
Dream events will be in regular black.
My comments will be in red.
I was at my house standing in my kitchen after coming home from something on my bicycle. I took off the backpack I was wearing and set it next-to the front door and looked around. Let me tell you here that in most of my dreams, when I dream about a place that actually exists, the place will be the same place but not with the same features. In this case, my house was sort-of merged with my grandparents' house and had a distinctly Victorian era feel to it. I noticed that we had some sort of dinner party going on so I asked my mom what was happening, but she didn't hear me.I hate it when that happens in dreams. I left the kitchen to go see who was there, and it ended up being a lot of famous people like actors and actresses . The house, as I walked further into it, got more and more Victorian-like - the walls became upholstered in purple velvet, the furniture grew scroll-work and intricate fabric patterns, there were old photographs on the walls that I didn't recognize, and it all seemed too different. That's when it hit me.I realized that none of this was real at all, but just a dream inside my head. Not wanting to excite myself and wake up, I consciously regulated my breathing and walked back into the kitchen. My mom was still in there working on stirring something in a pan on the stove, so I walked up to her to talk. I told her it was a dream, and she flickered like a skipping record. She seemed stuck there flickering back and forth, so I decided to abandon her and see what fun I could have within the dream. Don't get me wrong now - I only abandoned her there because I knew she wasn't real. I started by going into the extra dining room and seeing what fun I could have with the actors and actresses. It turned out that we had the full cast of Mary Poppins eating at that table, so I figured I'd mess with them. I turned myself into a shadow (just because I wanted to, and it is so dang cool to be able to do that!) and slid under the table. Back under the table I reappeared in human form and went to each person one by one and made their chairs disappear out from under them. They all fell to the floor and were pleasingly confused and surprisingly outraged. I didn't expect them to be angry. I shadowed myself again and went out of the house. Now that I think about it, that was a really boring thing to do in a lucid dream. Damn. I went out into the yard and turned into a stereotypical 19th century poor kid (YEARS younger than I really was) and sneaked into some kind of outdoor concert thing where all of the old rich people were looking disapprovingly at me.
This is where the dream ends pretty much... It ended up being an extensively boring one (sorry) , but at least it was a lucid dream... Still more to come!
