      Sleep Paralysis while attempting WILD

      Somehow, my attempts to induce lucid dream are mostly in vain. What I get is sleep paralysis instead, they're v weird and scary noises. As much as I tell myself to stay calm, they get worse and worse and I couldn't take it anymore.

      All of my dreams become lucid in itself. When I realize it, I attempt to do sth abnormal in the dream, like moving physical objecst. Somehow I focus too much and end up waking up.

      Can anyone explain this to me?

      Are you saying, that all your dreams turn into lucids?

      Noises are just normal part of falling asleep, not SP. They are just noises. They can not hurt you. Can get scary, but if you stick with it, you will be revarded with a lucid dream.

      no i don't always get lucid dreams. they're v rare, but they do happen.

      and i'm pretty sure it's sleep paralysis cos usually when i sleep i don't hear noises and my body is paralyzed when i wake up for a few seconds

      These are obviously not physical sounds or physical vibrations, they are mental. Imagine taking a drug and suddenly you feel vibrations all over your body, afterwards you would clearly understand that these were not real, but just an affect of the drug. Well think about it if these sensations you are feeling are just mental sensations and just as real as the sensations from a drug...

      What does that then mean? What can you conclude?

      Simple! It's a dream already, you dream that you are in your bed feeling sensations. At least in 90% of the situations this is the case, because you can be awake and feel these as well, but they are far from that strong. I am not sure about this but it's just something to consider, what if you get paralysed the moment you hit REM sleep and because of that paralysing sensation but at the same time as you dream, then that feeling would be transfered over to the dream right?

      Don't bother to worry if you are awake or not, because the moment you feel these sensation you are just seconds away from dreaming anyway.

      So take the chance!
      Get out of the bed and see if you are dreaming.

      What can one say or think to themselves when confronted with the noises. In the past I have found that just saying to myself "Oh, its just sleep paralysis!" worked instantaneously, but only for situations in which fear threatened my ability to stay in sleep paralysis. Most other scenarios there is no need for reassurance. However when the whooshing sound is heard, I'm simply removed, forcibly, from the sound and sleep paralysis.

      True DynoTAP one need to call it something... And I personally call it signs of a dream.
      The thing is that if you think it's sleep paralysis it might arise a problem because sleep paralysis is an ambigous word.

      And even if you at that moment think that sleep paralysis means the sensations you feel before you dream, it is easy to think "Oh that means that I can't move my body!" which is wrong because you can.

      And the moment you direct your awareness to the body there is a big chance that you stay in the body and not direct the awareness to the mind.

      If you focus the awareness on the body it can go like this Relaxation -> Your out transitioned but still think you are in bed and you start hearing weird sounds -> You think about the physical body -> Your back in the physical focus.
