You are the best person to decide, what you could be doing differently, just because I don't know, what else you do when attempting a WILD. Please read this tutorial (sageous) and compare to your practice. |

I tried again to do the WILD method for a nap. It didn't work. I got into sleep paralysis for the first time. I waited for a long time, eventually hypnagogic sounds came kinda. I heard a guy say "no" and stuff. I waited about another 10 minutes. Then I tried to do the enter the dream thing. It didn't work, I kept trying for a long time. Then I said mentally someone help me do this. Now that I think of it, I heard the person say No after I asked. Was it because I didn't wake up in the middle of the night to do it? Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? |

My guess is too much mental activity. You could try WILDing during a WBTB - definitely easier to fall asleep when you're half-awake to begin with. Keep that in mind too: your #1 goal is to fall asleep, don't let all the analysis interrupt you. That may be somewhat speculative on my part, but that seems to me to be the main issue. Like prople seem to naturally want to think themselves into a dream, when really what you need to do, difficult though it can be, is stop thinking. Consider what your mental processes usually seem to be around the time you fall asleep normally. |
