Last night I had a massive headache but I managed to slip off into sleep and awoke in a normal-ish dream but there I still had the headache and sometimes it'd throb and I'd be tossed back into my bed (I think) and then back into the same dream. |

Our big human brain will incorporate stimuli, including physical pain, into dreams. Last night I was dreaming that I needed a transfusion through the calf of my leg. It was painful in the dream. I woke up with a leg cramp. I am sure the leg cramp occurred first and the dream adapted to the presence of pain. |

If you go to bed with headache, sometimes you still wake up with a headache. If you had a dream between or not, makes no difference. Dream did not cause it, it just reflected it. Pain can frequently show up in a dream. Your arm gets in a crooked position, your earring digs into your ear... these can all get incorporated in your dream. |
