Question Is it possible..that a dream can trigger severe pains?

Ok so, I have a dream journal entry every day or so that I put up on DreamViews. And if you have read them, you would know all the whacked up stories and dreams that my mind creates. Now..there's something I haven't explained in any of them. And I didn't think it was weird until I talked to a friend about it. I can feel things in my dreams like..the breeze hitting my body as I walk down a sidewalk. Or if I were to get stabbed I would feel an intense pain. Or if I got kicked in the balls in my dream, I would DEFINITELY feel it. Now, when I mentioned feeling things such as pain or a breeze, etc, to my friend, she said it wasn't possible. That something in real life must have triggered the pain in my dreams. But I swear I only feel it in my dreams and I think my brain creates the pain. And weirder yet..when I wake up, the pains go away. I don't always feel pains in my dreams, it only happens when something in my dreams causes it. Is it possible that my dreams can trigger pains? Or is my friend right??

You can feel pain in your dreams that is there only, and if you are unlucky, horrifyingly indescribable pain can occur, so bad I'm not sure if it is possible in the WW (not to scare you, just to show that it isn't external pain that is translating to your dreams).

In a shorter sentence, your friend is wrong.

Yea, the definitely can. Your dreams are as real as your mind can make them. For that matter, the dreams might just be making sense of a sensation your physical body is feeling, and simply amplifying it.

I would recommend not getting screwdrivered in the head, though >.< hurts like hell.

      What darkenedreality said and....

This once has happened to my little sister. She said she had a dream where she cut cut on her finger and it hurt but when she woke up, all the pain was gone.

Only dream, mental pain, not physical pain. Wierd thing that happened to me once, my hand was cut everywhere and was heavily bleeding with excruciating pain. The dream ended right as I was looking at my hand and when I got up I looked at it perfectly fine.

You feel what you expect to feel. I once got shot with a gun that shot electricity. Hurt like hell.
Change your expectations and you won't feel the pain.
Of course, sometimes the realness adds to the thrill of it all. 8)

Once in a dream a guy poked me with an electrical cabel. I could feel the pain a few seconds after i woke (and the pain itself, well, the best word i can think for it is crippling), but i swear the pain wasn't triggered by anything in real life. It think it was simply the dream continuing a few seconds after i woke up. So that can happen also.

I had a dream that my friend held me down nd stapled my eyes shut. It hurt. If I try to fly and I fail, I hit the ground and scrape my knees.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.
