      Can't Get Started

I've spent the past week trying to become lucid by SP, and it hasn't been working. I lie down and can get as far as feeling paralyzed and my body seems to vibrate, but I stay like this for 30 minutes and nothing happens. I either fall asleep normally, or give up for the night after 30-45 minutes. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

You didn't read the SP sticky. Go read it now.

No, you not! It happens to many, if they read a tutorial demanding you reach SP. But the good news is you don't need SP to lucid dream. Here is a great WILD (sageous) tutorial that explains in detail, step by step what to do and why.

But if you are opened to suggestion to start with a different technique, I recommend you check out DILD. It's much easier to start with. Or join DV Academy class General lucid or Intro.
