      Help Me Out

Okay, so when I lie down to WILD, after a while I feel like I'm spinning, round and round.

I haven't got a clue what to do when this happens. I feel like it's great progress and is the start of something, but at the same time if I focus on it it ends up going away and not returning for a long time.

What do I do when this happens? How do I get past it and transform it into a dream?

      Thank you in advance <3

Hey it's me lol. I'm not that experienced but if you ever get into that situation dont try to control it. Just relax and embrace it and keep your mind awake. Hope that helps ya a bit.

If you feel a really strong sensation of spinning, I mean like so strong like it feels you are literally on a roller coaster, well then it's pretty safe to assume that you are dreaming and you can just get up out of the dreambed you are then trying to WILD in.

But if you want to be a little more safe you can visualize yourself doing something, like knocking on a door or holding your cellphone, and if you can feel it vividly you are either "teleported" to that dream scenario or you can just get up.

People are so afraid to move in their WILD attempts and they tense up and that actually only does more harm than good, so to get that mental block out of the way I suggest that you just think of moving as a WBTB, if you have been laying still for several minutes you have in a sense just been sleeping consciously. So if you then move for a little bit and then relax again and just relax you can continue your attempt.

Thanks MasterMind. So basically, when I feel like I'm really spinning, I'm already dreaming, I just don't know it yet because I didn't feel the transition?

I may have to look into WILD some more, since I haven't been having a lot of progress with any other technique

Your welcome here is a big post about the aminergic system and how to use awakenings to make you more critical in dreams.

And it also has a link which direct you to another post where I describe my view of WILDing.

I would say, that if you feel your body to be in different position than when you got in bed, what you feel is your dream body already separated and moved out of position.

Try to direct it mentally to move away from bed. Just think to yourself "now I'm going to the door, window, foot of the bed, desk... and watch yourself move in that direction. You can stop your floating just by thinking 'stop here". And "stand up". Your dream body reacts to your thoughts.

I have felt spinning. With each breath I moved, until my feet were from knees down inside the wall right next to my bed and my head was over the carpet on other side of bed.

Now, since you know how it feels, you can try and invoke that feeling again. You can try turning - as if you sleeping on your back and you wanna turn to your side, spinning, rocking back and forth or rolling out of your body. At first, it may not work, but trust me, one day it will, or you will notice that it happend by itself. Happy travels

Well not exactly, it's more likely that you are transitioning into a dream but that you are too tensed to fully enter. It's hard to explain what exactly to do, just keep calm and don't bother trying to look for some specific feeling or anything just get really relaxed and try to fall asleep. You have to have faith that you will enter the dream quickly, if you don't think it's a dream yet you will likely never fully enter it.

gab: I don't understand. With this my eyes were shut and I was only seeing darkness, as far as I can remember. I couldn't see my dream body at all...

dutchraptor: Basically ignore the feeling and move past it without focusing on it?

Ya basically, take it as a sign that the dream has started to form and know that if it ends you have become used to it and are doing the right thing. Focus on your destination and let the rest of your feeling float by, don't try induce sleep paralysis but don't try be too aware of your surroundings. Just drift off until it starts coming naturally.
Now get to it and just gofor it

I didn't see anything either, my eyes were shut as were yours. But you can tell just by having spatial awareness that your body is not in the same position as you left it, but it has rotated by 40 degrees (in my case). Possibly by also feeling both bodies at the same time.
