Lightbulb How to choose your starting location?

Every time I've had a WILD it started either in my bed or in my sofa, and they're in potentially scary places.

Though, to be fair, I've been able to change my starting location from my bed to my sofa with a little of unintentional self-suggestion and visualizing, but I don't think I can do it with other places, specially if they're imaginary or just not as familiar.

So, do you know any way to change that? It would be easier for me to overcome my fear of WILDing if I started in a less scary place (like my high school for example).

      Thanks

      Bedroom for me.

In my experience with WILD, it seems that the more familiar the starting location is, the quicker you can stabilize and therefore the more likely you are to have a successful entry into the lucid dream. Your high school could definitely work. Basically any place where you could close your eyes right now and visualize it in pretty good detail.

This is something I've never given thought to, but I'm glad you brought it to my attention.

I find that one of my best lucids started in my bedroom. I'd have to go back through my DJ to find out where my other favorites happened, but I know I have always USED something familiar, it would follow that maybe I started some place familiar.

I can recall having a few lucids in one particular map of a multiplayer game I've played for 214 hours, one in my bedroom, etc. Definitely the best are in the most familiar.

      6 WILD has been bedroom
2 WILD have been to random places. I have no control over that yet.

My DILDs are always random. I can't help you there. Check out dutchraptors DEILD tutorial, it gives you a step by step how to get to the place you want when starting a DEILD.

I would like to add that by "best" I mean most stable and controllable. Which in turn makes them the most vivid and fun.

Stability is the key to everything. Senses will come once you're grounded. Control will bring even more senses. The chain goes on.

How what? You go where you want to go. WILD isn't as unpredictable as DILD.
