Unhappy Having trouble with WILLD. Any help?

I use the wbtb with wild and i wake up 4 to 6 hours later. I stay up between 30 to 45 min before attempting wild. I usually stay awake and enter sleep paralysis but i tend to lose focus while counting and go to sleep. Does anyone have any tips that would help me retain my focus?

You don't need to enter sleep paralysis to WILD, in fact, it is impossible to induce sleep paralysis unless you have sleep disorder with same name, it normally happens only once or twice through lifetime, if it ever happens. http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...explained.html
In order to WILD, you just need to fall asleep while being aware, not to stay awake, check out this tutorial for more details: WILD
      Good luck!

You could be staying up too late. I find that waking up, writing down my dream and then going back to sleep is more effective in general for the WBTB technique. This usually takes me 5-10 minutes. Try shortening the time you are awake for and seeing if that helps

When you WBTB, you don't just stay a little while to WILD or get DILD. The point of WBTB is when you're awake, it's essential that you need to fill up your head with anything LD-related as much as possible, so you can raise your awareness, then even when you fall asleep normally you either get DILD right away or WILD naturally. If you still wanna aim for WILD, try not to focus on gripping your consciousness. Instead try to get sleepy, as much as possible too. You are not falling asleep, you're getting sleepy. Mantra is very powerful source here. Remember, don't just utter the words of mantra, try get the feeling of it and understand it. When you get sleepy enough try the mantra to get lucid or lift your dream body or use any WILD technique that suits you.
I don't really stay awake for long like over 30 min. It takes me to less than 30 sec or a minute to WILD during WBTB - it usually takes 10-20 seconds...though the time length of staying awake for WBTB varies depending on people. So in addition like Araishu said, try shortening the time you are wake because if you need to get sleepy 30 minutes seem a bit long.

Instead of counting, try to imagine an object in your mind.. something simple. Try to imagine the texture of it. Try to imagine the image of it. Try to imagine that it actually exists.
