Firstly, unless you have a disorder, what you hope to experience is actually REM atonia. Secondly, attempting to WILD when you first go to sleep is not advised. You could be lying there for upwards of 90 minutes and nothing to show for it. The best time to WILD is 5 or 6 hours after your first REM cycle (dreaming stage). Thirdly, REM atonia is not a goal, its a signpost. Use it to remind yourself that you're on the right path, then completely ignore it. Finally, you could always try DILD instead. Good luck.

Everything splodeymissile said basically covered it perfectly! You should read this thread on Sleep Paralysis to clear any falsities or myths you may have heard. Good luck

What splodeymissile and realdealmagic said. For WILD you need to fall asleep while keeping awareness using an anchor and then enter dream, i very strongly suggest checking out this tutorial: WILD

REM atonia is another word for SP.

We all get REM atonia every time when we dream. It's a protective mechanism our body turns on after we start to dream, so we don't act out our dream.

When something goes wrong and our body fails to turn REM atonia off after the dream is over, or it gets turned on before we start to dream, we experience it as SP.

It's considered a disorder, to experience paralysis. We have fell asleep and woke up without being paralyzed thousands of time. Just think of all the times, when you woke up in the middle of the night due to some sounds, alarm clock, call of the nature... Many times directly from middle of the dream. And every time you woke up and wasn't in paralysis.

If by any chance you wake up and can't move, that's SP. This happend to me only twice, long time before I even heard of lucid dreaming. For some this can happen more often, but those people already know that they suffer with SP disorder. You won't start getting SP more often just because you are lucid dreaming.

Ok, now I realize I had terminology wrong too, didn't know what to call the non-SP. but basically the point is that what actually happens during WILD is nothing to be scared of, and no paralysis or demons involved.
