I read through the sensations sticky and was surprised when I read about dream images you see on your eyelids before you fall asleep. This happens to me all the time, and I always thought it was my OCD. Because when I would look into it, I would search "frightening images before falling asleep" and "OCD" together and see that it's a common thing for people with OCD to see scary images (like pools of blood, dead people, creepy ghostly figures) before falling asleep. Now I realize this is a thing that can happen to anyone.
The images I see aren't always disturbing. Lately I've been seeing running people or running horses. But they are very clear and like watching a film I cannot control. They are like dreams and I just wonder how it happens. It makes sense that this is just entering a dream state, but still in the observation phase.
Perhaps I am naturally suited for the WILD method. When I told my husband about my finding, he said, "I doubt it." Jokingly, to tease me, but with some seriousness. He told me he knows I see these things, but he just doesn't know what it is because he's never experienced it for himself. While for me this happens every night. I just need to find a way to go from this dream state in which dream images, flashes and auditory hallucinations often occur into lucidity.
