      Angry My MILDs Keep Turning Into WILDs??

      I have tried to MILD. It worked a few times. But lately, whenever I try to MILD, I keep accidentally end up WILDing instead. And I don't want to WILD!

      Because I use MILD right when I get in bed at 10 PM. It should help me fall asleep faster, chanting that mantra. But for some reason, my mind insists on being awake and aware and pretty soon I start getting all this numbing, vibrating, and hypnagogic stuff usually associated with WILD but I didn't intend to WILD!

      It's really frustrating. Because what use is WILD right before bed? It works best during WBTB.

      Does anyone have this problem? I find it really annoying because when my mind accidentally goes into WILD mode... it's hard to sleep. I keep breaking the spell because it feels uncomfortable, change my sleeping position, and try to MILD and sleep normally then the WILD begins to start up again and I'll break the spell again... and again... and repeat... until I'm so tired I just fall asleep. But it takes a really long time.

      Just use your mantras/visualizations and then fall asleep normally.

      I actually find it difficult to fall asleep while repeating mantras, they just keep me awake.

      What I do instead is repeating a mantra or two (very rarely do) and use some visualizations when going to sleep (they work better for me) and then let my mind wander as normal. I don't really care whether my last thought is about lucid dreaming or not, I just fully trust my visualizations and most of the time they work ^^

      Something (almost) similar (almost) happened to me yesterday. It was 4am, I had given up on WILDing for the night, and was just going to repeat the mantra untill I fell asleep.
      Then all of sudden, a dream was forming where I was practicing the mantra for an exam. (But when I noticed what was happening, the dream shyed away. )

      Maybe if you stayed less focused when repeating your mantra, you would lose awareness earlier? Or maybe you should just repeat the mantra during the day?
