the urge to move parts of your body is natural in everybody, maybe try to not eat drink in the 2hrs leading up to going to bed, also don't excite yourself prior to bedtime (you wanna try to avoid bright lights from smartphones, screens etc), try some meditation techniques (I've been doing this recently to help with my insomnia), oh and lastly I've found that just being tired, both mentally and physically before hitting the hay is possibly the best solution to this - just go to bed when you are shattered lol - but if you want to maintain a sensible sleep schedule then maybe do some strenuous exercise during the day or something like that, that's all really (sorry bout punctuation etc I post on dv using my phone mostly)..

Personally I imagine the WILD as a very important thing that I must not give up on

Ever thought of just rolling over?

I know that's sort of blasphemy in WILD-land, but if you can't avoid rolling over, and your WILD attempt is going to be trashed anyway because all your focus is spent trying to fight the urge to roll over, you might as well try to make yourself comfortable so you can sleep, and in the meantime continue to be focused on achieving your WILD.

This of course is not the best thing to do, but if rolling over can't be helped, you might just need to adjust things a bit. Also, perhaps to give you hope, I have had many, many successful WILDs after rolling over or moving some other way -- for that matter, I've also had many DILDs after rolling over as well (thanks to being mentally prepared to LD somehow in the first place), which is just as good.
