      I have successful WILDs even though I sleep with a fan on.
      Lol in one WILD I could actually still hear my fan after entering the dream. After I stabilized it a second time, the sound went away xD.

      There are people who use a noise to focus on and then they achieve WILD.

      It depends on the person, if you can't sleep with noise then it may be hard to WILD, same if you can't sleep without noise. Like DreamHighlander said, a lot of people use noise as an anchor.
