      Why does DEILDs work?

      Hello.

From what I understand. WBTB+WILD works because you're about to enter your REM cycle and directly into a lucid dream. If not, it's rather difficult.
So with that in mind, why do DEILDs work?

They have for me a couple times so far(Im a beginner) and that's great but...how?

Waking up right after a dream ends and not moving and re-entering. Wouldn't you be at the end of your REM cycle? Wouldn't that mean you have some NREM before you can dream again?

      Any help would be appreciated.

      Hi,

There are three types of DEILDs i guess
      - DEILD from prematurely ended dreams
      - DEILD straightly from rem phase
      - DEILD after natural awakening

First one is easiest one probably, you were in dream and something caused it collapse, be it either sexual experience which caused overhelming emotions (Basicly emotions), nightmare or just being lucid and causing dream to end due to destabilizing You just wake up remain motionless, stay inrelaxed manner and it will be probably less than one minute before you will be back in dream.

Second one is not difficult aswell if you do it the right way. There are two requiements:
      - You need to be in Rem Phase
      - You shouldn't be jolted awake too much.
If your in nrem then it will be third type deild and if your alarm will shock you out of dream it might be impossible to deild.
I suggest alarm that is not loud yet is able to wake you up
Or one that progressivly increases volmue over time and shuts itself
Also the shorter it is the easier it will be to deild.

The third one and how it works might be a little mystery
I don't know myself, it might be just because remaining motionless will keep you in sleep paralysis and body won't try to put your consciousness to sleep while you wait in nrem for next rem phase to start or because you are still in leftovers of rem phase and you can re-activate n' extend it if you attempt to pretend to be still asleep.

DIELDs are my method of getting lucid basically. I think along with MisakaMikoto's explanation, is a category of an "Aha!" moment where you recognize something is off, due to awareness of dream signs or performing a reality check. Probably boils down to awareness as well. I haven't had much luck at all with WILDs or WBTB but DIELDs are what I will get every so often. These past two weeks I've had maybe 3-5 DIELDs and have been coming out of a dry spell.

Aha, nice. They are pretty gret, I had one last night in fact! But it was really not so vivid and short...how do YOU stabilize your DEILDs?
