HELP? I'm getting WILD/WBTB/CATWILD down, I just need one more step.

Last night I attempted a WILD going straight to sleep, knowing it's harder going straight to sleep, I tried anyway cause I was feeling comfortable. My body was relaxed, it hadn't been this relaxed before, which I'm noticing it is getting easier for me to relax my body as I make more attempts. Anyway, 20 minutes in, I started feeling strong tingling sensation starting at my feet then, it got hard to breath and my heart started racing, fast and hard. I remained calm, my eyes were moving really fast under the lids, everything was getting brighter, and brighter. I figured Id try to transition but this is where I'm unclear at.. I'm opened my eyes halfway during this sensation and seen my room, it was blurry. I sat up and looked at my hands to RC. Apparently I was not dreaming. I was disappointed but yet excited that I'm getting more successful and close each time I try. What am I doing wrong? Am I opening my eyes too early? Do I let the sensations finish?

You don't necessarily need to open your eyes. I had a WILD in which it felt like I was being sucked into the dream, although I did immediately get excited and wake up. I would suggest reading this post about WILD entry.

      Agreed

I don't think you need to open eyes or move your body to be rolled into dream.
During all my WILDs i just waited until dream formed.

If you want to check whether your in dream or not during WILD you can try some basic Dream Control stuff.
Like telling yourself that sister of yours has entered the room and she will start yelling at you to get out of bed now.

Thought i wouldn't recommend that at all
It might disrupt or harm your WILD attempt.
      I'm back! Again? Uhhh..
