      Hypnagogic Experiences?

Hi everyone, I see that there are some very old threads about hypnagogic experiences, but I was curious if anyone would be willing to share what theirs are like? I have still not been successful at entering the dream state beyond the hypnagogic phase, and I am sure that everyone's experiences here are different, I am just very unsure if this is what I am experiencing because it is very easily induced for me, to the point where I can achieve a "hypnagogic state" from a dream, but also because it has never turned into an actual dream. So here is what it's like for me:

Always after I wake in the middle of the night, if I pay attention to the swirling colors when my eyes are closed, it is instant. I feel vibrations, and I usually see images that appear almost as TV stations covered in static. Most of the images are unrecognizable, and it is ALWAYS me flying into them, as they spiral around me. Sometimes there are noises that also sound like TV channels. I rarely see any image that I can recognize, once I saw a bed. The closest I have come to entering a dream (I think) was when I saw a train, and I was flying along side it right at the end of a hypnagogic experience. It only lasted a few seconds before it faded and I was awake again. It seems like I can't hold onto the hypnagogic state long enough to get to a dream, or don't know what to do once I get to a good place in hypnagogic.

Does my description sound like a hypnagogic state? Last night I had several lucid dreams, and traveled through a hypnagogic state a few times, but I think I was fully asleep during the lucid dreams, and they weren't actually wake induced. I am just really unsure of whether or not I am actually doing this, because it is usually accidental, and it happens fast. Last night I sort of purposely induced the process, but prior to this it has always been accidental, and my lucid dreaming has always just been from a normal dream that I gain lucidity in.

Yep, that's hypnagogia. You're probably just getting too excited when it happens. The only way to prolong it and enter a dream is to have a stillness of mind.
