I've been attempting WILD now with no success. I've read alot about WILD so I understand the basic idea of what I should do, but I feel like im doing something wrong. I've been going to sleep at around around 10:00PM and set my alarm clock for 3:30 each night. After waking up, I turn off my alarm clock and go directly into the process. I've been trying to do the "stop drop and roll" but it still hasn't been helping me much. I lay down face up, hands above my head and hold them there for around 10 minutes until they are nearly numb. I then put my arms down and hold them close to my side. Movement isn't an issue and I can generally hold my swallow reflex pretty well (although it makes my mouth really dry) after I start to get a bit uncomfortable (around 20 min or so) I turn to my side (Is this the turn signal?). after that I just lay on my side and try to obtain lucidity. Patience isn't a problem as there are times that I'll literally lay on my side for hours and get no results. Sometimes my body will start to get a "swaying feel" as if someone is rocking me in a hammock. I'm not sure if that is what I want or not. What should I be thinking about when I'm in this process? I've generally tried to concentrate my eyes on the images/light I see whenever my eyes are closed, and sometimes my mind will go on different tangents and create scenarios with myself inside of them. this just kinda happens by myself but I cant find my self able to hold them for long. maybe like 5 seconds each. The closest I've ever been to becoming lucid was after the "turning" step. about 5 minutes after turning, I started to see this pulsing static screen. It was so sudden that is completely caught me off guard and completely woke me up. My heat was probably beating 2x its normal speed. It also just so happens that this was one of the attempts where I was trying to listen to music. Should I continue listening to music when I try to WILD? and also, is there anythng I'm doing wrong? . This is incredibly frustrating as many of you probably know. Any helps and/or tips are truly appreciated. Thanks! |

I'll look at it. It seems to have good advice. And I've looked at like the standard way to lucid dream where you just lay down and relax, but after doing it several times and not working, I looked for another method and found the "stop drop and roll" Idk if its legit or not, But ill definitely look at your link and let you know how if i get any success. Appreciate it! |

I just looked at the technique on another forum. It is some what like something I have been talking about. That is laying on your back until you are so very close to sleep that you are drifting in and out, then shifting to your side so you will instantly fall into sleep while paying attention. I did not read details, but the format seems about correct. |

Hmm I looked up the anchor and I think it may help. I heard someone suggesting that you focus on a limb while counting 10 to 1, doing this for all you limbs. I think ill give it a try. Thanks! and also another quick question. People say its best to get around 5 hours of sleep before a WILD and that you should wait a half hour also. Is the wait period necessary? Whats its purpose? because if its just used to keep yourself awake, I dont feel like I need to do it because I generally have a hard time falling asleep and can keep myself awake very easily |

Skip it then. I only spend five minutes up much of the time. |

I still seem to have some trouble becoming lucid and I think its because I'm either to excited, or because of all the doubt I have due to prior frustration. I was looking through the forum a bit to see if there was something that could help a bit and I came across this post: http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...al-%2A%2A.html I think I might give this one a try because it requires a lot less time and skips the relaxation period required for most of the other WILD methods. I'll let you know how this goes. |
