      Talking Wild Practice

So I've been trying for a while now, but WILD doesnt seem to work with me, because I always give up really quick. But yesterday, when going to sleep I tried to practice a WILD, as in just lay there for a while till SP kicks in, since I knew I wasnt in a REM period anyway.

I just laid down a for a few minutes, then tried the reverse blinking method, and my body started numbing down much quicker then usual. and this where it became different.

It was as if the darkness in my eye lids kind of.. acted as if they had depth? see when you close your eyes, you just see blackness, but when I was doing it, it had a sort of depth to it? and I felt all kinds of vertigo and stuff. But my mum switched on the light in the hallway and I think that killed it, but man if it was any where close to a WILD, I'll be heaps happy.

What do you guys think? sorry if this topic is kind of crappy, as I saw a thread a few days ago complaining about noob questions

      Hey Delphinus! thanks for replying

I tried again last night and I think I MIGHT have experienced the SP lights and such, but for some reason they werent in color like alot of people describe, but mine was just white on a black-backdrop. It was quite pretty, like the white was flowing in the wind, I tried not to pay attention to it very much.
But I kinda swallowed.. couldnt help it, and it didnt immedietly go, but it kinda died down a little bit after a while and I dont remmeber any thing after that, I must have dozed off

So is that actual imagery that people get when doing WILD? I didnt hear anything though.

I've been experimenting with the same thing when I go to bed at night.

I have some similar experiences. I get lots of yellow and white circles and waves. I sometimes get feelings of falling, sinking, spinning or rushing forward. Haha, it's fair trippy!

It is, but, I think even if you get SP when you go to bed, not too sure if you'll be able to enter a REM cycle. I've been trying the same things you guys are doing and found that I get pre SP much faster if I exercise a couple of hours before bed, but, even then, I haven't fully experienced SP My advice is to wake up a couple of hours after sleeping and trying to WILD then. I had this kind of experience and when I woke up and was partially awake, I saw all these pretty patterns with my eyelids closed which meant that if I stayed awake for a couple more minutes, I might have succeeded

I'm not sure about entering the REM cycle this way either.

Every night I've tried this I've been able to hold out longer everytime before I break it, so I'm going to practice with this a few more nights, build my mental focus. Till then Its fun to watch the patterns and images come and go, behind the eyelids.

So how do you guys actualy get into the 'zone'? count numbers? imagine stuff? I do reverse blinking for a while, dunno if I'm doing it right though, but it seems to work.

I just get comfortable, and count my breaths. I don't try and imagine anything, I just let thoughts naturally come and go on their own.

Hmmm, i do have to say, i get quite bored after around 300 or 400... and the higher i count, the more i find myself daydreaming and forgetting where i am and having to start back somewhere.

I use to count breaths, but that got too boring and I would quit too often :/

Usually I simply try and remain aware. During sleep paralysis I'll get vibrations, and I'll focus on that so that I don't 'drift'. Recently I've started to do visualization techniques, and they work pretty well, though I'm only good at simple visualizations so far..

      Good to hear, Lionsroar!

I'm tring to get into WILDing myself as DILDs aren't really stisfying. You should try the DEILD method though, I got three doing that over a few months.
