Is this the start of a WILD?

I've heard it mentioned but im not sure exactly if it is a WILD or any other type of entry into an LD.
This happens to me fairly often but not the majority of times I try to go to sleep and without me trying to make it happen.

I feel an urge to scratch some part of my body, or move, If i resist these urges I feel like im on a roller coaster and suddenly dropping way down, as if I'm falling.

If this is a WILD or something else I need help with it, I always break off from it because it really freaks me out, mostly because I think that I am going to go into a dream while concious, but I also think about SP and I find myself being very afraid of the fact that before going into an LD I could be paralysed or something to that effect, so I open my eyes. So can anyone help me get over this fear - tp clarify im frightened of going into SP, not of LD's.

Sleep paralysis is a transition that occurs every night, multiple times per night. You don't even have to experience it to WILD, as ideally SP and your dream begin at the same time. If sleep paralysis does occur, it should last a minute or two at most. It is not painful. So, what exatly are you scared of?

This sounds like a general pre-sleep vertigo than sleep paralysis. The "urge to scratch/move" is irrelevant, as you don't have to stay still to WILD. If the vertigo is uncoortable, I suggest moving to a more comfortable spot, or opening your eyes for a few seconds to regain perspective. Remind yourself that you are really in bed, lying down, and still. Try to redirect the vertigo, visualize the motions slowing own and stopping.

Well I read on these forums that you do sometimes go into SP before you have your LD so while I have never entered SP while conscious I am frightened of doing so because I am scared of being paralysed, so I think that the roller coaster feeling is the start of a WILD which can lead to SP and since I am frightened of SP I break out of the sensation.
Also I know that the roller coaster feeling is not SP but im wondering if that is me starting a WILD because I read that people get sensations like falling while in a WILD.

Well, the key here is to stop being frightened. This is easier said than done, I suppose. All I can do is tell you that it's natural, not painful, and lasts for a couple minutes at most. You'll need to find a way to relax if and when you do experience real sleep paralysis. So, why not think relaxing thoughts? Think about where you want your dream to begin!

Hm. I am under the impression that the pre-SP sensations that over eager practitioners experience come about simply because people /want/ to feel sleep paralysis (as they believe it leads to greater success at WILD). A true placebo-effect. I think what you described is unrelated to WILD and sleep paralysis, so I wouldn't worry. :]
