Weird Feeling When Attempting to WILD

Well, this morning, I tried to WILD. I woke up at 3:30am, stayed up for an hour, then got back into bed. I tried so hard to stay still! I had to swallow, so many times! And each time I did, a different part of my body would twitch.

Anyways, after sitting still, for maybe half an hour, with occasional twitches and swallows, I swallowed. And my leg twitched. Which happened to trigger the strangest feeling I've ever had. As soon as my leg hit the bed again, my whole body felt a wave of numbness over me. It's like someone poured a whole bunch of numbness powder on me. I immediately assumed I was entering SP and I tried my hardest to stay still. I stood still and after a while, I cracked my eyes open. I didn't see and hallucinations. So I went to sleep.

Was I entering SP? Was it a false awakening?

What can I do next time, to improve my chances of success?

      You were in SP.

Next time, don't open your eyes. Maybe use a sleep mask, or a bandana around your eyes. HH can be seen with the eyes open, but often you will see them behind closed eyes.

Twitching is something we do in our sleep, and while half-asleep.

Which WILD technique were you using?

I'm a little confused. You were waiting to see hallucinations? and then what were you going to do?

Well, I never read about what people do when they enter SP, so I just assumed they opened their eyes. Now I know not to.

I guess I'm using the classic technique of waiting, motionless, until something happened. I had never entered SP before, so I didn't know what to expect.

Well, I experience the exact same thing, the numbness, tingling, and twitching, every time I go into SP right before a WILD. You are right on track!

Experiment with different WILD techniques. The ones that work best for me are counting, visualizing, and listening to music.

You may see images, or hear voices after awhile. If so, do not be amazed. If you see images, simply look at them. If you hear voices, listen to them. As you fall asleep, focus on the thought: "I am dreaming."

You are right on the verge!
