When to attempt to get up and RC

Ok, so I'm confused at this part. I know that once you enter SP, you start to get hallucinations and you can hear noises or you vibrate, etc. but from SP, how do you get into a dream state?

In my knowledge of WILD, there is a gap between after SP, and the dream state. How do I get from SP into the dream state? How do I know when it's time to do what I have to do to get into dream state?

Once I enter SP and feel vibrations, etc. I lay still and remain calm. I then casually watch any hallucinations I may have. Alot of times my body will begin to feel like it is spinning or sliding around the room. I always wait until I my body is done sliding/moving or until the vibrations are gone. I then stand up and I am usually in my room and within my dream. I suggest waiting until the hallucinations and vibrations have ceased. Most of my WILDs start where I have fallen asleep. If you ever see the room "through your eyelids" try and stand up. Do some RC's and Clarity improvement techniques if needed. Good Luck!

When you get to SP, just be patient. Your biggest task is to keep from falling unconscious, but also not jolt yourself awake. You're trying to fly in that buffer zone for as long as possible. Most of the time, the dream will automatically start if you wait long enough.

If you have been in SP for a good two minutes or so, then start to imagine or visualize yourself in a dream (maybe the last dream you had). You may not physically "see" anything yet, but just keep imagining and being aware you're falling asleep (it's best to tell yourself you ARE asleep even though you aren't quite yet). Eventually, you will begin to physically see something. Maybe in flashes, or maybe more like something at the end of a long tunnel that disappears when you focus on it too much. Stay relaxed, be aware of the visions that come, but don't get excited over them. Just observe them. Usually you will suddenly be in a dream, ot the tunnel effect will begin to get larger until it fills up your entire field of vision, after which you will be in the dream soon. If you're seeing things and not quite in the dream yet, just keep being patient.

Thank you! So once vibrations/ringing/spinning/sliding/hallucinations/ etc. cease, then I stand up, and perform some RCs, and I should become lucid?

So it's like I transitioned into being awake, then to sleep, without realizing it?

It's a good idea to RC when you start, but it's not likely you'll need to. With a WILD, there is no break in consciousness. Your body falls asleep, but your mind goes right from being awake to dreaming.

Yeah, most of the time you will transition into the dream naturally. Just make sure you casually watch/listen to any hallucinations. This will keep your from falling asleep normally. Try not to focus intently on any of them. Just remain calm and generally you will transition into the dream state without much effort. Simply stand up once you believe you have transitioned (usually once everything, hallucinations/vibrating/sliding, have ceased). Like Naiya said, if you get stuck in SP for a long time, just try and visualize the room you fell asleep in. Then it should appear and you can then stand up and become immersed in your dream.

Naiya is correct with the RC. You will be lucid through the entire WILD process, and you will be lucid as you enter the dream. RCing (for me anyway) helps improve the clarity of my dream. That is why I perform them after the transition. I like to RC whenever my dream is fuzzy or begins to fade. It helps me stay in the dream. You can try this yourself and see if it works the same for you.

So it's like I was awake, and I knew, then I went to a dream, without knowing?

My experience with SP leads me to believe it takes place just on the dreaming side of the dividing line between awake and asleep. So technically in SP you're already dreaming (if it works the same for you).

Correct, and the more WILDs you have the easier it will be to determine when you have completely transitioned into WILD.
