      WILD and Polyphasic sleep

Hi everyone. Thought I'd share my LD-story with you all and at the same time hopefully get some pointers.

A little more than a week ago I decided to start sleeping according to a polyphasic sleep schedule called the Everyman schedule. With it I sleep from 4 am to 7 am, and also take 3 naps of 20 minutes every day. I've tried this schedule out several times the past year, and have been prone to oversleeping. Anyway, this time I figured I would try again extra hard and what was amazing was that already on the second day on the schedule I started getting SP. Atleast I think it was SP. My body would tremble and feel numb, and when I realized I was in SP, everything suddenly got brighter, as if my eyes activated under the eyelids and saw the light coming through them. My body felt like it had been down inside the bed and started to float up. I guess I got too excited and activated my brain too much.

Anyway, I thought that sleeping polyphasically would help me get better at WILDing as I get 4 chances to fall asleep every day.

I haven't had as much success as I hoped since the beginning of my schedule, but still some success I guess ^^. I've had HI for the first time (loud static hiss and whispers all around me but clock woke me up after that) and have had atleast one LD that I remember clearly.

I'm curious though, has anyone tried this method and had any success with it?

It sounds like you are already WILDing with your SP experience. By the time you are seeing stuff, you are really in a dream. You just need to break away from the idea that you are still lying in bed. Get out of your body, or create a new dream body for yourself.

I haven't seen Placebo around in a while, but he used to be heavy into a polyphasic sleep cycle. Send him a PM and get his butt back in here

Thanks, buddy. I found some old posts of his relating to polyphasic naps now I have something to read during those long night hours

And yes, I think the last part of the transition is where I fail right now. I just can't ignore the fact that I'm about to hit SP and everything starts to brighten up again :/ Its tough trying to deal with your subconscious side.

Woohoo! Had another LD just now! I was so tired that I took a nap right in between my usual naps, and boom! I can't tell whether it was a WILD or what it might have been. I mean I felt my body going numb, and then I pretty much imagined a dreamscene and waited till I was certain that it was a dream instead of falling-asleep-thoughts. Then as the dream started to feel very vivid I spun around and rubbed my hands together. It got stabilized for a short while - I only had time to look around to appreciate the vividness of it all and run for a bit. Then I woke up as I was too excited, thinking about what to do next.

It might not have been the longest LD, but atleast I have an idea of how to go about doing this now

The nap didn't help the tiredness much though :/
