How close was I to WILDing?

      Hello.

I've been Lurking around this forum for a while, and I recently decided to join.

I've been trying to WILD on and off for a while, and I succeeded once, a while ago, purely by chance.

Anyway, recently, when WILDing using WBTB, I experienced a peculiar sensation.

I was on my back, and it felt like I rose about two feet in the air, and started emitting purple and white rays of light. I felt a strange tingling sensation, and euphoria. I then slowly came back down and, after trying for about another hour or so, just fell asleep normally.

My question is: What happened? And in the future, what should I do to enter a LD?

(Also, the rays looked something like this: except purple and white, and not as smooth.)

      Hello and welcome to Dreamviews!

I haven't experienced the light-emitting phenomenon of which you speak, however the floating sensation is reminiscent of sleep paralysis. Was it similar to a "water mattress" sensation?

Congratulations! You were definitely doing your WILD right! You were past the SP and vibration phase I'm guessing, right? The sensation of rising into the air I'm guessing was you experiencing an OBE (out of body experience). This happens OFTEN when preforming a WILD. The only thing you did wrong was you should have taken advantage of the OBE and pushed it farther away from your physical body. One way to do this is to imagine your body actually separating into a non physical and physical body. Imagine your non physical body simply floating away to somewhere else. This will help you enter right into your lucid dream.

I'm not so sure what the emitted light was, but my guess is that it was a hypnogogic hallucination. I would suggest you do farther research in the the area of WILDs. Go to this part of the forum for help: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=66238

      Good luck!

Wow, that was certainly was a WILD, congrats. ^_^
I usually never feel or see anything more than a slight numbness when I hit SP, but I'm really curious as to what these hallucinations look like.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Actually, that was the first time I ever got HI. It's pretty cool.

      HI can be amazing sometimes.
The other night during a WBTB VILD attempt I was experiencing green swirls swirling around and then I seen stars. It was awesome.
