I've read that mantras can keep you too awake. Try having the mantra in the back of your head, without actually focusing on it. |

Within the first like 10-15 minutes of laying still, eyes closed and earplugs in my entire body is numb... It feels cool but I can't enter SP. I KNOW what SP feels like but I can't go in. I can be numb for an hour and a half and constantly repeat to myself "I will have a lucid dream. I will move from waking to lucidity." The whole time but I can't enter SP what am I doing wrong?! |

Goals:
Consistently for two weeks recall at least one dream per night [ ]

Main LD goals:
- Futuristic/sci-fi/cyberpunk big city
- Fantasy role-playing game
- Flight and other super powers
- Use lucid dreaming as a study-aid
- Personal development, inner peace etc
I wasn't expecting SP to kick in in 15 minutes thats just when my body becomes numb. I've been numb for an hour and a half at most but then I give up... Also... Mantras? |

Oh I just googled it. I guess it's my "I will have a lucid dream. I will move from waking to lucidity.". What do you suggest I say to keep my mind awake then? |

Try counting every breath, like "*inhale* 1 *exhale* i'm dreaming." and so on so forth. |
|
Try to not even focus on the fact that you are WILDing, if it is possible for you to just zone out do so. Focus is really a killer in this sort of thing. I suggest meditating before hand if you really want to do your mantra. |

Remember your mantra, without actually using it. |

if you want there are some music tracks on here, some for meditating or some for playing as you WILD. I used the one for during the WILD and While it didn't get me into a dream (since I'm not very good at WILDing) it did make the time fly. It had been two hours before I knew it. So this could make practicing a lot easier. |

Sounds awesome! I'll search around for those when I have time. |

As I've been attempting WILDs I have found that lots of focus keeps me up for hours and that a little focus (a mantra every now and again, just to barely remind yourself what you're doing, I like "I will reality check" and/or "I will realize I'm dreaming"). |

Try out my new WILD tutorial... it doesn't require WBTB |
|
CrazyInSane - That's a great idea but there are huge problems. First... My mp3 player runs on a AAA battery and goes out in like 8 hours or so... and I share the room with my dad and brother so it is impossible to use the alarm clock unless I get an auto off alarm clock. |

Yeah, those are unfortunate circumstances. My technique is probably best suited for people who either sleep alone in their room, or has someone in their bedroom who is willing to co-operate with the effort and either just ignore the alarm or maybe even go along with the LD attempt themselves. |
|
well still, there are probably a lot of people willing to do whatever it takes for an LD, so even if circumstances are a problem it's not like it isn't good. Seems like a great idea. |
|
Thanks, Xedan. You're right, though... an LD is a wonderful experience, so many people are willing to do whatever it takes to get one—especially a WILD. Let me know your results if you decide to give it a shot. |
|
Well I've decided to try to get 30 MILDs before coming back to WILDing. Still this is nothing like that tutorial where you have to take like 50 different drugs before bed |
|
I suggest trying to visualize stuff. If you keep your mind on mantras it's easy to keep awake. Trying to visualize stuff will eventually take you away from any focus on your body or your mantra. Past that, I can't really help, still trying to get a WILD myself :/ |
|
Lolwut.
wouldn't that be a VILD? |
|
I personally don't consider it a VILD because in my case I'm not "incubating" one certain scene, I'll just randomly visualize something. Eventually it plays out like a little movie of my thoughts, and I just go along with it. I guess if WILDing ever works for me I would try to "jump in" to the visuals, but like I said I've never been successful. |

Lolwut.
I wonder, has anyone every used the TURD method (joke intended) with a WBTB? |
