I had my first WILD tonight!!!

So I went to bed normally and woke up after a dream about 5 hours of being asleep. I got up and stayed up for about 45 minutes with a dip in. (yes I know most people think its gross). I lied back down and repeated to myself that i would become lucid and stay aware for a while and tried counting 1-i'm dreaming, 2-i'm dreaming, etc... with ever multiple of 10 being 10-stay aware. I counted really slow to 100 about 3 times and i still wasnt asleep so i decided i was using my brain too much so i just kinda let it wander while every once in a while reminding myself to stay aware. I eventually kind of just fell asleep and had a weird dream where my family all had x-men powers and we were going to Starbucks but it started storming outside. I woke up after that, keeping my eyes closed, and thought "FUCK I fell asleep!!" I decided to try to WILD from there and in about 15 minutes my dad came into the room (I don't live with my parents) and started yelling at me to mow the yard and I heard my sister yelling at him to let me sleep. I was trying to stay asleep and not move and zone him out because he was keeping me from falling asleep and becoming lucid. (haha crazy how the sleeping brain works) I kind of remembered I didn't live with my dad so when he came back and told me to water the garden I sit up and yell "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" and realized I was in the house I grew up in and was, in fact, dreaming. I ignored my dad and jumped out the window and flew down into the ground through different levels of buildings. My vision went black and I wound up in my bed again. I waited a bit, got up again and walked to my door and said "Megan Fox will be waiting for me behind this door." It turned out to be just the hallway, and got the same result when opening the closet door. Maybe the failure was because I knew where I was very well and it was harder to imagine a different room where something else should be, or I just need more practice. Next time I woke up I flew up and once I cleared the top of the buildings, I somehow ended up flying downward towards a huge city. I dove into the ground and ended up at a cheerleading competition. (I'm a male cheerleader) I really had to pee so i went to the bathroom and asked the DCs how their dreams were going. When I finished my business I decided to try and find a girl. Every time I did all the DCs around me would try and distract me and I tried to yell FREEZE to make them stop in place, but it only worked for a few seconds. I soon woke up in my real bed.

I think staying up 45 mins for a WBTB is too long for me because it takes so long to fall asleep, I lose focus. I'm gonna try half that time tonight to see if i get better results.

Good going, good job, i know wilds are hard to achieve. I like how you communicated with your dcs and asked them about their dreams, i have to try that sometimes.

Great job with the WILD! I've been trying myself after an accident.

Dip is chewing tobacco. He is saying he had the chewing tobacco is his mouth as he fell asleep. Personally I dont see how you would keep from choking or something if it went down your throat; I would think it would be like sleeping with gum in your mouth, but then again I have never dipped before.

Thanks for clearing that up. Urbandictionary.com left me the impression that it was dipping his penis into the toilet bowl...

      Anyway.

Yeah, the "I know most of you think its gross" part also made me think about a one-man sexual action.

      Also, lol male cheerleaders.

First of all congratulations on your newly learned ability! I'm still working on a WILD..been close, just have a few lucid dreams where my body wasn't moving properly..and I try to force it too hard and I wake up.

I don't know, but It sounds like remaining calm during your dreams is one of the important skills to learn in order to maintain lucidity consistently. My thoery is that dreaming just has to get closer and closer to the point where it becomes second nature to you. If you want to achieve that..than you just have to constantly be "aware" as everyone says..as in - just always be thinking about your surroundings and where you are, what is going on and what your really doing right now.
Think slowly; focus as the fireworks become a looking glass, step through to awaken to the cycle of awakening.

Hmm I really need to get back into WILD WBTB.
Usually I'm far too depersonalised in the morninmg to tell up from down, know who I am, let alone remember to focus for a WILD.

Perhaps I need to make a large poster with a symbol reminding me of Lucidity on the ceiling right over my bed. ( that would be a wide open, crowned eye) to remind me when I wake up all messed up as I do.
Luminous Spacious Dream Masters That Holographically Communicate
      among other teachers taught me

not to overestimate the Value of our Concrete Knowledge;"Common sense"/Rationality,
for doing so would make us Blind for the unimaginable, unparalleled Capacity of and Wisdom contained within our Felt Knowledge;Subconscious Intuition.
